By Jessica Wesson, ACN Communications Specialist

Get ready to sharpen your skills, expand your network, and gain fresh insights at the Agricultural Communications Network (ACN) Spring Regional Workshop, happening at the iconic McDonald’s Headquarters in downtown Chicago. Join fellow agricultural communications professionals on this one-day journey of learning and collaboration.

A Day Designed for Growth

Led by top voices in the agriculture and news industries, this workshop promises something for every communicator. Attendees will explore:

  • How to write about sensitive or complex topics

  • Best practices for impactful writing and photography

  • Networking with peers and industry leaders

  • In-depth analysis of commodity markets for this crop season and beyond

“The committee has put together an agenda with something for every type of ACN member,” said Katie Knapp, ACN board member and one of the event organizers. “There will be skill-building sessions on writing, videography and media relations in the morning. In the afternoon, we will get our hands dirty so-to-speak talking about the ag economy with a group of commodity association leaders, economists and analysts.”

This longer-format session will allow attendees to dig deep into a topic that affects all corners of the ag industry.

“It’s designed to go in depth on how to effectively cover this ever-changing and vast topic from whichever side of the desk or industry you work,” Knapp explained. “You will come away with new skills, contacts, and useful content.”

Who Should Attend

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started in ag communications, this event is for you. The workshop is open to ACN members and content creators working across the agricultural industry who are eager to elevate their communication skills.

“ACN primarily exists to bring its members networking and learning opportunities,” said Knapp. “This event is exactly that, in a venue that most don’t often get to visit. Plus, there will be some pretty great door prizes!”
