We’re Still Listening

by Mary Kendall Dixon | Aug 17, 2018 | News, The ByLine

By Amy Roady, AAEA Membership Task Force Chair

One year ago a membership task force was established to review AAEA’s membership categories. We embarked on a journey with a focus on listening to our members, considering multiple perspectives and proposing changes that will serve the organization’s future.

We heard a lot and we learned a lot, right up until the vote. The call for more clarity was clear. Your feedback is important and it’s always welcome. We will keep listening, especially as we move into executing the constitutional changes. Our work on membership is not done, but the next phase is beginning. It’s an exciting time for AAEA.

During the next couple months, AAEA will continue sharing information about membership options. We will seek to add clarity and answer questions that you have.

One key to the next phase is establishing a strong membership committee. We need a balanced group with thoughtful members who can work together. If you are interested in serving on the Membership Committee, please email Amy Roady at [email protected]. We value your support and your engagement and look forward to working together.
