By Tyler Harris, Young Professionals Committee Member

Greetings,

Hopefully everyone has had a safe return and time to catch up on some rest after Ag Media Summit.

As farm show season gets underway, and with harvest 2018 around the corner, we’ve got a lot on our plates. Navigating these waters as a young or beginning ag journalists or communicator can be an intimidating experience.

With that in mind, AAEA Young Professionals SIG has resources available to young ag communicators. Join us on Friday, August 31 at 11 a.m. CST for a webinar titled, “How to Navigate Workplace Dynamics.” The webinar will cover tips for journalists and communicators getting started in the ag field, including working with seasoned veterans in the field and people of various generations, asking the right questions in interviews, and maintaining credibility while learning the ropes in a new, sometimes intimidating field.

The webinar will feature panelists Lyle Orwig, chairman at Charleston/Orwig; Courtney Leeper, writer at the Noble Research Institute; and Tyler Harris, editor at Nebraska Farmer/Farm Progress; and will be moderated by Kelsey Litchfield.
