Switzerland – September 22-25
Food Security, Free Trade and Sustainability press tour in Lucerne, Switzerland, it will be held the same weekend as a Food Security referendum in Switzerland. The objective of the tour is to promote awareness of current developments in food security around the world and in Europe, to witness direct democracy in Switzerland by means of popular vote, as well as get an update on UN/FAO positions on the extent to which trade and free trade promote or threaten food security.
We will visit alpine and valley farms and cheese makers in Lucerne and Central Switzerland, and have many discussions among journalists and agricultural professionals. We are looking forward to this seminar and welcome you to Switzerland!
Registration deadline: August 15, 2017.
Cost: No cost except travel to Switzerland. Expenses incurred in Switzerland will be covered by our partners and sponsors; participants are expected to cover their own travel expenses to and from Hohenrain Lucerne, Switzerland. Save the date and see you soon!

Turkey – October 25-28
ANIMALL ANTALYA, the largest animal husbandry exhibition in Turkey will be held in Antalya and organised by DLG Fair Company. Onur Kiraz, General Manager of DLG Turkey says, “We would like to invite 50 IFAJ members to spend two nights in Antalya (a worldwide tourist destination) at a five star hotel.
Excluding travel costs, all expenses will be covered during your stay. Our IFAJ friends will have a meeting with Turkish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock officials to discuss the prospects for Turkish agriculture. There will also be visits to commercial stands and have talks participating firms within the fair.”

Czech Republic – IFAJ Executive Meeting – October 18-21
Members of the IFAJ Executive committee will be meeting in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. Committee members will arriv in Prague for a morning workshop at the Suchdol agricultural university and then transfer in late afternoon from Prague to Česke Budejovice by bus (approx. 2 hours), dinner and accommodation at the Hotel Clarion.
The Executive meeting will be on October 19th at the hotel followed by a bus tour to Český Krumlov (cultural heritage of UNESCO – visit old cellars for cheese) and dinner organized by MADETA (biggest and traditional Czech milk processing company).
The executive meeting will resume at the hotel on the morning of October 20th, followed by sightseeing tour with guide of České Budějovice and study tour dinner at the brewery Českobudějovický Budvar (Budweiss Beer). The morning of October 21st will be a farm tour before transfer back to Prague in the afternoon.
