TikTok Gets Nostalgic; Tests Story Feature

According to HubSpot, nostalgic content is on the rise – and TikTok is taking advantage of it.

The social media platform recently unveiled its “Re:Make” campaign. The new feature provides classic TV ads that users can reimagine on their platform.

The first brands to join TikTok’s Re:Make campaign are Skittles®, Snickers® and Old Spice®. Keep an eye on the #TikTokReMake hashtag to see how users interpret these nostalgic commercials….

Not wanting to be left behind in the dust, the social media giant is also currently testing a new feature called “TikTok Stories.”

True to TikTok form, users must post videos, not images, to their page. People can view other users’ stories, react, and comment on them. However, like Snapchat and Instagram, the TikTok Stories will disappear after 24 hours.

Meme Culture Brings Brand Loyalty

Who knew there was a connection between memes and shopping?

It seems our digital behaviors are making memes an avenue for brand loyalty, according to Forbes magazine.

One company adopted a “meme-baiting” strategy into their products by embedding jokes, parodies, and satire to make their products relevant and infinitely “meme-able” and memorable.

Spotify & GIPHY Seal the Deal

Send a GIF and some new tunes all at the same time.

Now you can, thanks to an interesting partnership between Spotify and GIPHY.

A new set of Spotify-linked GIF’s are popping up on social media platforms that include buttons users can click that will link them directly to the artists’ music.

The idea behind the partnership is to connect users with Spotify music in their everyday communications and hear new music from their favorite artists.

Participating artists include: Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Post Malone, Nicki Minaj and many more….
