2023 Social Media Predictions: Part 3
By: Ashlyn Rochester, Communications Specialist
Last week we covered Instagram predictions for 2023, and this article will cover LinkedIn predictions. LinkedIn is a great social media for network professionals (like us!) and the pandemic has increased usage to record levels of engagement. Here’s what to expect from the professional social network.
More Data Insight
LinkedIn has the largest database of professional and career insights, and in 2023 they’re working on integrating this data to help people maximize their careers and professions. This data will appear as:
- What people should do to obtain their dream job
- Links to LinkedIn Learning to get the exact skills needed for advertised roles
- Mapping out a user’s career by collecting data on what other people with similar skills and interests have done
But it won’t work to just help the user, but also recruiters and employers too. Companies hiring will utilize this data through more data insights from job listings. Expect more predictive and assistance insight into their job tools.
More Video and Audio
As we’ve seen on Instagram with Reels and on TikTok, video is thriving right now. LinkedIn wants to capitalize on the trend too so expect to see more video tools like expanding on their current tools and video chat features. It will also add more advanced tools like enhancing its Event features to include Zoom-like video meeting options, live streams, and more advanced connection options. The hope is to use these video-connecting tools to connect job seekers with companies.
Speaking of video, expect audio to improve on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the perfect platform for professional audio events, and LinkedIn wants to make the experience better by making them a bigger focus for professional engagement. In the past year, they’ve been developing their audio rooms so expect to see more options for audio rooms in groups, audio meet-ups among connections, and more sections featuring audio events.
