Mentoring Program

Ag Communicators Network Student Mentorship Program

ACN’s Student Mentorship Program connects student members with seasoned professionals through monthly phone or video calls (approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour) beginning in January and leading up to the Ag Media Summit, where participants are encouraged to meet in person.

During the first session, mentors and students share their career journeys and goals, then collaborate to create a personalized plan for the program. Topics may include resume and portfolio development, interview prep, work-life balance, and making the most of professional organizations — though sessions are flexible and tailored to each pair’s needs.

  • Prepare a list of questions they would like to ask their mentor
  • When appropriate, provide the mentor with a portfolio and a resume
