IFAJ has changed how their awards program is structured. Previously, print and broadcast entries were limited to pieces which first won in their respective country’s awards program, and anyone could submit photographs to be judged. Now all entries are to be submitted by category, rather than media type:
- Innovation
- Sustainability
- Technology
- Trade, Economics or Global Issues
- Rural Culture
Any journalist in good standing with their IFAJ member guild (i.e. ACN) can submit one entry in each of the IFAJ Star Prize categories. The submitted pieces either need to have been published between January 1 and December 31, 2023, or have won a 2023 ACN award.
The contest is free to enter, and submissions are due via the IFAJ website by April 1, 2024. Winners will be announced at the 2024 IFAJ Congress in Switzerland in August. See https://www.ifaj.org/contests-and-awards/ for more information.
Recent winners from ACN include:

2022 Gil Gullickson – print
