Around the world, agriculture faces conflicts over land use. Mining, oil and gas, tourism, wildlife, housing developments — many industries threaten farming or compete with farmers for land and resources. As ag journalists and communicators, what land conflicts concern your audience? How do you cover them? What challenges do you face in reporting on them? Are you looking for new ideas or angles from other places and journalists that you can apply to your own coverage of land use?
IFAJ is holding a discussion by Zoom titled, “Reporting on Land Use Conflicts” on Thursday, February 17 at 14:00 GMT (8 a.m. CST). Any of our Ag Communicator Network members can take part in it, because as an ACN member, you’re also an IFAJ member.
The discussion session is not a presentation or panel. It’s just colleagues getting together to share reporting ideas and build a network with other interested journalists and communicators. You’re welcome to spend an hour together sharing your thoughts and listening in. Let’s learn from each other and create a great, new opportunity from our worldwide IFAJ network.
