As part of the transition to a new membership database system, ACN conducted a comprehensive review of all memberships and listings. This review identified individuals whose status warrants formal action under the Association’s governing documents. The ACN Constitution provides:
ARTICLE III — MEMBERSHIP
(D) Honorary life membership may be granted to members who have rendered distinguished service to the Association and to agriculture. Such memberships must be approved by a majority vote of the membership, following investigation and recommendation by a Membership Committee. Honorary membership shall have all rights and privileges of membership. Nominations for honorary membership must be submitted in writing at least 30 days prior to the Association’s annual meeting.
Recommendation: The ACN Membership Committee recommends honorary life membership for the following individuals who have received the organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award: JoAnn Alumbaugh, Joe Dan Boyd, Larry Dreiling, Betsy Freese, Den Gardner, Gregg Hillyer, Greg Lamp, Karen McMahon, Jim Patrico, Jack Pitzer, Paul Queck, Kelly Schwalbe and Pamela Smith.
Action Requested: A vote of the membership to approve these honorary life membership appointments, to be held at the ACN Annual Business Meeting on Monday, July 20, at 3:00 p.m. in the Grand A at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch in St. Louis, Missouri.
