Join a Committee or Special Interest Group
Have you been wanting to be more involved AAEA but haven’t taken that next step? Now is the time. We’ve had our annual business meeting, elected our new officials, and rebranded the association. Keep the momentum going and get involved! We have a number of active committees to choose from that are run by dedicated members like you. Special Interest Groups are new this year— help kick-start their launch by contacting the chair for opportunities to be involved.
Our committees help to keep the several moving parts of AAEA running smoothly. If you’re interested in joining a committee please reach out to our committee chairs or let us know in your profile by checking what committees you’re interested in. A list of interested members will be pulled periodically and sent to the committee chair.
The members only site gives committees a private area to interact by sharing messages and files. This area is only visible to members of that committee. Access the committees you are a part of under the ‘My Features’ tab of your member profile.
If you don’t see this feature in your profile and feel that you should, please let AAEA staff know.
Special Interest Groups serve as a community within the Ag Communicators Network for people with a common interest, profession or knowledge.
Use the ‘E-list’ feature on the members only site to subscribe to a SIG. This is a collaborative, community feature that allows you to communicate via email with other users subscribed to the list. This can be used for communications such as volunteer opportunities, discussions or announcements.
To subscribe, navigate to ‘E-Lists’ under the ‘My Features’ tab of your member profile and click subscribe.
