Five Steps To Create a Successful Social Media Strategy

Social media is constantly changing. Save yourself stress by creating a strong social media strategy to guide you to success. Here are five ways you can create a successful social media strategy.

1. Build authentic relationships

Your brand, company, product, or service is nothing without an audience. Create your niche audience by engaging with your community. Respond to comments, ask questions, and create conversations. You’ll create a strong relationship with your audience when you authentically engage with the community. This builds trust and loyalty, and eventually sales.

2. Embrace video content

Video is all the rage now with TikTok and Instagram Reels. It’s becoming the preferred form of content for social media and its users. While many are resistant to video, there are ways to make it fun! You can use video to show your personality, expertise, and creativity through engaging content. But remember to stay on brand. If dancing and lip-syncing aren’t your brand, don’t do it just because it’s going viral. It will feel inauthentic to your audience. Instead, find your own style and keep your brand consistent.

3. Post about value, not sales

Your social media content should focus on more than just making a sale. A good rule of thumb is 75-25. The majority, or 75%, of your content should be engaging, educational, inspirational, or entertaining to your audience with valuable content. The remaining 25% should be sales related. Anything that asks your followers to take action falls under this category (sign up for a letter, click a link, download something, follow something, etc.). This formula forces you to provide value to your audience, which again, creates trust and authority with your followers.

4. Listen to your audience

Now that you have built trust and loyalty with your audience by posting valuable content, it’s time to listen to them! Social media is a two-way conversation. Besides posting, you should respond to comments, questions, or feedback. Use these comments to improve your strategy or product/service. Instagram stories has a poll feature, so you can survey your followers and get fast, useful feedback.

5. Diversify your content

You should have a mix of audio, visual, and writing in your content so it can appeal to all audiences. Some followers prefer to read text while some prefer to watch videos. Your content strategy should have a variety of content formats throughout the month. This is a great reason to experiment and discover what works best for your audience.

With these five tips, you’ll be crushing social media while building a strong follower base. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn!
