By Ashlyn Rochester, Communications Specialist
Early Bird registration recently opened for IFAJ Canada, and you have until April 2 to take advantage of the $200 discount. Use code INTHEWEST23 at checkout when registering for the full week of congress from June 27 to July 3 for a total of $1,123. Register here.
The five days of IFAJ will feature various agriculture tours, including a canola crushing facility, how Alberta ranchers incorporate sustainability of their cattle ranch, and a tour on the barley belt where producers grow the ingredients to make beer.
July 27 will be the ‘Taste of Alberta’ opening reception in Calgary, Alberta. The next day the conference begins with an IFAJ meeting and then buses to Olds, Alberta for an evening event. June 29 to July 2 will have speakers, professional development opportunities, congress tours, special events, and more. June 29 will include tours about Canada’s Canola Frontier, The Business of Beef in Canada, The Incredible Fark-to-fork Journey of Sunterra, and Caring for Livestock. June 30 tours include Olds College Smart Farm, Rodeo and Rural Alberta, Sustainability in the Beef Industry, and the Barley Belt. A final banquet dinner will take place on July 2, and buses return everyone back to Calgary.
There is also an option for a Pre-Tour of the Rocky Mountains from June 23 to 27. Registration includes four nights of accommodation, four breakfasts, five lunches, four dinners, and transportation. For double occupancy, registration is $1,500, or for single occupancy for $2,000. On the tour, you’ll see and visit farms and ranches through southern British Columbia and several National Parks in the Rocky Mountains. There are limited spots so register sooner rather than later!
