If you’re looking for high level professional development, an opportunity to network with peers in other countries, earn recognition for your work, and perhaps help gain guidance on your career, here is a great opportunity from the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ).
The IFAJ-Alltech Young Leaders in Agricultural Journalism Award is a prestigious and exciting chance for ag media journalists 35 years old and younger. The award recognizes the leadership potential of young members from countries belonging to IFAJ and will support their participation at a future IFAJ Congress and boot camp.
The successful candidates selected for Young Leaders must be able to attend the selected Congress and boot camp. The next IFAJ Congress is planned for June 27-July 3 in Denmark. Click here to learn more about the Congress.
The award helps to offset travel and registration expenses for people who are selected to participate in each event. If our guild’s official applicant is selected as one of the Young Leaders in 2022, AAEA’s Professional Improvement Foundation (PIF) will also offer a stipend to help cover any costs.
The IFAJ boot camp in Denmark offers expert training and feedback with on-site writing or broadcasting assignments. The program develops leadership skills through formal in-class training, and also provides attendees a chance to write or record spot news during the Congress.
We encourage potential nominees to fill out a formal IFAJ application form. IFAJ will then give our guild the applications to decide our official candidate for consideration. Click here to learn more about the rules and regulations for the Young Leaders award. A formal application can be found here.
The deadline for applications for the Young Leader program is Jan. 21, 2022. Our guild’s deadline to nominate our candidate is Jan. 28, 2022.
