ACN Members Named as Finalists for Two Jesse H. Neal Awards

ACN members and Farm Progress podcast creators of “Around Farm Progress” was named a finalist for two Jesse H. Neal Awards for producing excellence in journalism. The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) named the Farm Progress’ podcasting team as one of three finalists. Those nominated were carefully chosen after a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation process by peers.
The Farm Futures’ special issue is a finalist for “Best Subject-Related Package” and Around Farm Progress Podcast is a finalist for “Best Podcast.” The podcast is a trusted source of information for U.S. farm families. Their special issue episode is “Cultivating Mental Health – Inside America’s Silent Struggle” and highlights four goals:
- Shed light on mental health challenges in rural America
- Learn why rural people are reluctant or unable to get mental help
- Offer solutions to a wide range of mental health concerns
- Provide testimonials to foster more discussion on the topic
“I created the Around Farm Progress podcast as a way to reach our readers in a new way to share our stories, but the podcast has evolved over the last four years,” says Willie Vogt, Executive Director, Content and User Engagement, Farm Progress. “Today we not only get the back story about articles editors work on, but we also talk to industry leaders and innovators about key topics impacting agriculture. Winners will be announced on April 21, 2023, at the New York Marriot Marquis in New York City. The 59 winners will be chosen by a panel of 136 judges. The judges have three stages of review to select winners in 24 categories.
