Congratulations to AAEA member Katie Knapp, our 2018 AAEA Young Leader nominee, selected by the AAEA International Committee. Her application and work samples have been submitted to the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ)/Alltech Young Leaders Award judging committee.

Each of IFAJ’s member guilds may submit one nominee for the prestigious award, which recognizes 10 outstanding young journalists who demonstrate great potential to become leaders in the agricultural journalism/communications industry.

Those journalists—age 35 or younger —who are selected by an international jury for the prize, receive a 1,000-Euro stipend to attend the 2018 IFAJ Congress in Wageningen, The Netherlands, in July. The Young Leaders also participate in a Boot Camp in the days prior to Congress, which includes professional development, networking workshops and farm visits in the Wageningen area.
