It’s time to celebrate and honor the organization we all love! It is the 100th year of American Agricultural Editor’s Association or as we now know it – AAEA Ag Communications Network.
The Committee has been hard at work for months, years really, getting ready for 2020. To help us celebrate and recognize this milestone, we are proud to show you our special logo for this year.
Look for the logo throughout the year for special events and recognition of the heritage of AAEA. The year-long celebration will be focused on remembering milestones and recognizing the progress our organization has made.
Jim Patrico’s committee is well underway on the 100th Anniversary Photo Book. We will have a wonderful display in InfoExpo at Ag Media Summitt this year. That committee is headed by Den Gardner. As a part of all, we will be extensively using the AAEA archives and Paul Queck will be in charge of that committee. We are still in need of help on our Promotions Committee. If you would like to help, please contact Kenna Rathai at [email protected]. We have several things you could help with depending on your time availability including writing social media posts, researching and ordering premiums.
You may know that the first meeting of AAEA was held in Chicago. As a nod to the city where everything was started, we will be having a celebration and regional workshop in Chicago on April 23-24 . Watch for more information regarding this celebration in the coming weeks. Thank you Amy Roady, for chairing this committee, in conjunction with the member services committee with Julie Deering and Jennifer Shike. And finally, we will of course be celebrating in style during the Agricultural Media Summit this summer in Kansas City. From historic photos and stories to modern-day social media and videography, AAEA’s celebration will be one to be remembered in another 100 years.
