The Danish Foods and Agricultural Journalists are proud to present the IFAJ Congress 2022 – Smarter Farming and Food Production for Green and Sustainable Growth.
The main IFAJ 2022 Congress will take place in Denmark from June 27 to July 3, 2022 in Vingsted. The pre-congress tour will take place from June 24 to June 27, 2022, in Copenhagen. The post-congress tour will take place from July 3 to July 7, 2022, in the Faroe Islands.
The main congress will consist of 20 excursions over four days. Please click here for more information.
In addition to the excursions, there will be several workshops. Some of the topics include freedom of the press and cooperation between ag journalists across borders.
On the VIP Day, a Danish minister, a U.S. government ag-official, an EU commissioner and directors of international organizations related to agriculture all have been invited. The topic of the day will be: How do we produce feed, food, and energy for 10 billion people in 2050, and secure a healthy environment, biodiversity, and climate?
Also, the prestigious Star Prize winners for writing, photography, and more will be announced in Denmark and receive their awards during the Congress. The deadline for Star Prize entries is March 10: More information can be found at https://www.ifaj.org/contests-and-awards/.
The organizers have also arranged a partner day where you can see new technology, attend seminars, plus interview CEOs, researchers, and more.
The main IFAJ Congress will take place at the Vingsted Hotel and Conference Center, which is located near the Billund Airport. All participants can be accommodated at the conference center.
Thanks to the Professional Improvement Foundation (PIF), several travel stipends have been made available to help ACN member cover costs to travel to the Congress. More information on how to apply for a stipend will be presented in the next newsletter.

With regards to the COVID-19 situation, the current forecast for Denmark is that it will peak in late January and then decline. At present, fully vaccinated people can travel to Denmark from a large number of countries without isolation. The authorities expect the situation to be much better in June and July.
ACN members in the U.S. and Canada should check on their own relevant travel/testing regulations for the latest updates.
Until more is known, the organizers are only asking for interested members to register for the 2022 Congress.
Jacob Neergard, from Denmark’s organizing committee, said on Jan. 26 a lot of people have already signed up for the Congress, but the planners were “postponing payment in case it doesn’t happen.” Early registrations will assist the organizers with their logistical planning for the event. When the COVID-19 situation becomes clearer, they will collect payment for the event.
