The Ag Communicators Network (ACN) Board of Directors approved a proposed amendment to the ACN Bylaws at its April 7, 2026, board meeting. In accordance with ACN’s Constitution, we are notifying the full membership of this proposed change prior to a membership vote at the ACN Annual Meeting on Monday, July 20 at 3:00 p.m. in Grand A at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The meeting will be held in conjunction with Ag Media Summit.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT: BYLAW Article III – MEMBERSHIP
Article III: Membership
Section III:
Current language:
“Membership dues, assessed on an annual calendar year basis, shall be the same for both editorial, associate and partner members. Special categories of membership dues will also be assessed on an annual calendar-year basis, and rates will be determined at the board’s discretion. Any change in membership dues must be approved by majority vote of the members.”
Article III: Membership
Section III:
Proposed language:
“Membership dues, assessed on an annual basis, shall be the same for both editorial, associate and partner members. Special categories of membership dues will also be assessed on an annual basis, and rates will be determined at the discretion of the board. Any change in membership dues must be approved by a majority vote of the members.”
SUMMARY OF CHANGE:
The proposed constitution amendment removes the word “calendar year” from two references in Section 3, replacing it with “annual” in both instances.
This change aligns with members’ requests and the Membership Committee’s recommendations. It also provides the board with greater flexibility to align membership dues cycles with ACN’s operational and fiscal needs, without altering the existing requirement that any change in dues rates be approved by a majority vote of the membership.
NEXT STEPS:
As required by the ACN Constitution, this proposed constitution change must be approved by a majority vote of the members at the ACN Annual Meeting on Monday, July 20 at 3:00 p.m. in Grand A at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The event will be held in conjunction with Ag Media Summit.
