One might say AAEA members are particularly business astute and work closely with their financial advisors for the best tax scenario. On the other hand, one might argue that we have members who are particularly charitably minded. How ever you like to think of it, I’m pleased to report that year-end giving to the Professional Improvement Foundation totaled $5,750.
Thanks to everyone who contributed. Donations ranged from $25 to more than $500, and every little bit helps to provide opportunities for development activities, whether it’s bringing in a keynote speaker, giving stipends to attend the Ag Media Summit or supporting student internships.
Year-end giving in 2018 set a record at $6,400, which was nearly double that of 2017. AAEA’s professional development opportunities have really expanded the past few years with more member touchpoints throughout the year. Regular webinars and podcasts give members access to information, people and perspectives on-demand that they might not get anywhere else.
As we move into the New Year, 2020 marks a milestone for AAEA as it kicks off its centennial anniversary. On behalf of the PIF Trustees, we look forward to helping make it a special year for members. If you didn’t get your year-end giving done, consider getting a jump on 2020 and donating $100 for 100 years of AAEA. Donations can be made online here.
