By Joy Crosby, ACN President
A new year always brings a sense of possibility, and for our network of ag journalists and communicators, it also renews our shared responsibility to serve one another and the agricultural community we represent. As journalists, we know the power of words, images and relationships. As an organization, our strength comes from how we use those tools in service to our members and agriculture.
Serving this organization is both an honor and a commitment. It means listening to members at different stages of their careers, across commodities, regions and communication disciplines. It means creating space for professional growth, meaningful connection, and thoughtful conversation about where agriculture is headed and how we tell its story with clarity and credibility.
This year, our focus is simple but important: value. We want every member to feel that their time, talent and investment in ACN matter. That means relevant webinars, resources and opportunities to learn from one another. It also means supporting the volunteers who give so generously of their expertise to keep this organization moving forward. Their service is the backbone of everything we do.
A new year is also a chance to invite fresh ideas. If you have a suggestion, a concern or a vision for what ACN can become, I encourage you to speak up. Strong organizations are built through participation and those willing to serve. When we engage in ACN, we grow both individually and collectively.
As we step into the months ahead, let’s commit to serving with intention, leading with integrity and communicating with purpose. Together, we can ensure this organization continues to be a trusted home for agricultural communicators and a positive force for the industry we serve.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you this year. I look forward to what we will accomplish together.
